The Olive Tree Greek Restaurant
Peter
and Joanne Gekas planted the seeds of The Olive Tree in 1979. Their
goal was to provide a unique culinary experience for Rochesterians.
Determined
to fight the stereotype of Greek cuisine in America as greasy diner
fare, they cultivated a lighter approach which critics have branded "Nouvelle
Greek Cuisine." Pure olive oil and fresh ingredients provide
an experience good for the heart and palate.
After 25 years of experimentation and adaptation, the
menu at The Olive Tree has evolved to incorporate both classic
and innovative entrees. We hope that through all our years of
hard work that we have been successful in serving you the best
Greek food you’ve ever had.
In keeping with our philosophy, our wine list consists exclusively
of carefully selected Greek wines representing the best that Greece
has to offer. Beer and full cocktail services are also available.
The Olive Tree is housed in a brick storefront built in 1864.
For its renovation, it received an Excellence in Design award from
the American Institute of Architects in 1980 and a recent special
citation from the Landmark Society of Western New York (2003).
Patio dining is available in season.
